There was really nothing wrong with hybrids conceptually, other than the fact that most of them were barely-adequate, cheap shitters with flat bars and knobbies slapped on for the sole purpose of appealing to people who know nothing about bikes. Also suspension is for tards.
A drop bar rigid hybrid with decent spec components, reasonable gearing (nobody needs 54t charinrings you idiots and I never want to see them on anything short of a professional racing bike ever again), dyno hub, a Stzvo headlight, bright blinking non-Stzvo daylight running lights, discs, fenders, a rack, massive clearance to accept studded tires (but something like 700x28 memeskins by default) and either top-tier platforms or preferably MTB pedals. Basically the platonic ideal of an /n/ bike.
Fuck that abomination in the link though. Dropper posts, lol, just kys. Literally the H2 hummer of bicycles, that man is a cager through and through.>>1130480
Just keep riding and eventually you'll be comfortable on a real bike for grownups. Don't worry about what others think of you and don't let yourself get mad that some people are faster or have better bike handling skills. This isn't a race.
