A train on the Disneyland Railroad multi-track drifted (by accident) in 1955. At that time, they had brakemen through switches so that one train could pass the other at stations. A brakeman pulled the switch too soon as the caboose was moving across it. One set of wheels went on one track and the other set on the other track. Had it not been stopped by a concrete barrier and derailed, it would have collided with the other train.
They phased out having trains pass one another soon after that.
