>>1164081>All it takes is 1 person making a 5kw e-motorcycle and abusing the rules of cycling. People complain to the government and the hammer comes down on everything with 2 wheels in the name of "safety"
They're already breaking the law by doing so, making another law to require road legal ebikes to have licenses and insurance isn't going to stop them.>Git good, take the bus, or have you "bicycle" titled, registered, and insured like any scooter or motorcycle
But why? A 500-750w ebike with the same assistance speed limit and no throttle would be just as safe as the current 250w ones, perhaps even more so.>Don't exploit the grey area us cyclists have been in for 100+ years in the name of being out of shape.
You don't have a reasonable argument so you resort to insulting my fitness? I'm not out of shape at all, strong with a healthy bf%, but when I'm commuting to work where I have to do physical work I don't fancy getting all sweaty and tired by climbing all the way there.
Also just because someone is out of shape/disabled doesn't mean they should have to take a bus, drive a car, or ride a motorbike (and pay the additional costs associated with doing so). You're trying to deprive people of the ability to enjoy themselves and potentially get healthier.
