You need the right bike for you and your riding conditions. Most bikes tend to go from all around improved performance, to racing specific tradeoffs above a certain price.
If money really is no object, and you know exactly what you want, perhaps a bespoke frame custom fit to your exact dimensions and riding style/conditions, custom paint, possibly handbuilt wheels.
There's also some niche bikes, like tourers, tandems, fat bikes, ect that get into very high prices. But by the time you hit 15k, you're almost always into bling territory rather than performance.>>1319137
Performance road is ruled by the racers. If you can't race with it, you might as well break all the rules and go recumbent.
