That isn't true at all. The tighten mechanism is too small and fragile to do that.
Its also so small you can't grip or tighten it properly, and you can't use tools to properly secure it.
I can trust screws because the extra grip offered by screwdrivers, but I wouldn't trust a small twistable metal cap that you can destroy by bending left or right.>and also prevents intrusion of dust and other particulate matter.
And that isn't true either.
If it where true, Presta tires would come without tire inflation caps.
Even if it where true, the only source of dust is the hinges for the cap, since its the only place left that is exposed, so its exactly the same.
