The right-turning driver at (A) waved me (C) through. I rode across the intersection and straight into the front of a ute (B). Thankfully, the ute and I both slowed down and it just destroyed my front wheel, without injuring me at all. I took the guy's name and number and walked my bike home with one wheel in the air.
I was warned by you guys about people who wave you through. I intend not to make this mistake again.
I got the name and number of the ute driver, but
(a) Bicycle network insurance only covers personal injury, not property
(b) If the driver has insurance, it probably won't cover me since I think I'm at fault.
Next step is to get a bike shop to inspect the frame and forks I suppose. The frame is aluminium. I sure hope I just have to replace the wheel.
