I took a dirt road over to a nearby town, but the road was in much worse condition than it usually is, all loose powdered clay. Saw a sign indicating that a highway on the other end of town currently too bumpy to ride is getting repaved, which adds another riding option. On the way back I saw a recumbent fat trike. For how fast the guy was going it was probably electric.
I'm thinking a trike has got to be fairly useless on mtb trails around here and in the snow. The smooth part of our trails is typically no more than a foot wide, and overall width under 3 feet. Riding in the snow you'd have to break trail with all 3 tires. Even though they clear the MUP here there are narrow spots at bridges where the plow can't reach.
