What a coincidence. I just got myself this net because I was concerned with fighting to land good size halibuts or other types of fish on slippery rocks. Eventually, I will lose an expensive lure, and the halibut and/or I will get hurt pretty badly. This one is rubber coated mesh so it’s decent midway point between a full rubber (heavy with high drag) and nylon ( rougher on fish and hooks can get tangled on them). I got it for $40 from a local store which is reasonable price. It’s very hard to find a good size rubber/rubber coated one under $30. It is collapsible and extendable handle which I might or might not need but it might be useful if I ever get a kayak anyway. I could have settle for a cheaper ones with just solid handle and no collapsible net but I would have pay for shipping to drive 20 min out to get for just $10 less anyway.
If you care about C&R, don’t get the cheap ones with rope and knots. Those will cuts into the fish’s fin pretty badly.
From my research
Shit ones with knots will run from $5-15
Knotless mesh will be around $15-30
Knotless mesh with rubber coatings are $25+
Full rubbers are $30+
