Has someone experience as a deckhand on a yacht?
First my background:
I am 25 years old German that, from an educational perspective, wasted his life so far. I have no degree and worked my last 2 years teaching English in Asia. While this was a good stepping stone to fix my life I have concerns about my future. I enjoy my job but I don't know if this a good long time decision.
I don't mind working hard or invest a couple of years to achieve a desirable position.
I have excellent social skills and very good looks. I was thinking, how I can capitalize on this despite not having any degrees.
So my point is: Is it a good idea to start working on a Yacht for some rich guys? As I get it you simply need to take some courses and you are, at least technically allowed to be hired, no degree needed.
Although the working hours are actually appealing to me. Work non stop for some time and then have a longer break.
Has someone experience doing this? How difficult is it to move up the ranks? Is being a Captain of a yacht even something achievable? Is this a good longtime decision?
