Esee knives are incredibly overrated imo. I've had the esee 6 and it's easily the worst knife of my collection in that size range. >Cheap 1095 steel hardened only to 55-57 RC. This is way too soft and it loses its edge way too quickly. >Blades are normally coated and this prevents you doing any scraping work with the spine. Even if you remove the coating on the spine, the differential heat treatment means that the spine is still quite soft - soft steels don't make good scrapers. >Useless finger choil wasted the most prime real estate on the blade, the edge closest to the handle is the best for power cutting, there's no way you're power cutting through anything if you stick your finger in the choil and "choke up" on it. >Handle is downright garbage. It's literally unshaped slabs, it actually hurts your hand if you try and power cut through essentially anything.
IMO, save up a little more and get a bark river bravo 1.25 or a bravo 1.5 in 3V - much better.
