Mixed bag, I guess like anywhere else. Too many conversations with randos end up feeling like you wandered into the worst parts of twitter or resetera. It's expensive as fuck so you're either struggling, or feeling trapped in whatever sweet gig you were lucky enough to grab. This is why Texas is so alluring, although I'm guessing the ones moving there are also a little bit annoyed by the leftism here.
Also, in my area, it's crowded and the combination of gender politics and gender ratio makes dating a nightmare. And the few rock climbing areas we have are mediocre and incredibly overcrowded. Good /out/ is hours of driving away.
You should definitely visit CA though, it has some incredible locations, even outside of the obvious ones. The natural areas of the coastal range are beautiful, especially big sur and everything north of San Francisco. The north isn't crowded at all, either.>>1567649
