Photobooks, photobooks, photobooks. Pick an artist or style you like, suck up your ego, then try to emulate their shots, composition and processing-wise. That's your exercise. Do it a lot. Do it enough and it will become second nature. Over time you'll notice you can start inserting your own style into it.
