If everyone received the same level of engagement, there would be no reason to pay for advertising to get in front of people. Paid advertising was the direct response to all of the 'influencer' promotion that started on Instagram in 2013 onwards.
I knew somebody who had ~50,000 Followers in 2012, and since then their engagement levels have fallen off sharply, because Instagram have changed their algorithm and app focus. You're wasting your time if you are an undeveloped/upcoming artist, have an account on Instagram, and think it is beneficial for your work. Likes and Followers are a meaningless commodity.
Instead of posting this shit on your Instagram for free (greatly devaluing your work), write a blog on your own website, review the film, talk about your experiences and what you learned relating to your art/photography, review your camera equipment, share tips and information, etc.
