No shit, Sherlock, it's WAY easier at f/2.8, you can even use scale focus.
For a 25mm f/2.8 APS-C lens at, say, 2m subject distance, the DoF is ~70 cm.
For OP's f/0.95 lens at the same subject distance, the DoF is only ~20 cm. If you're going to go to such lengths and your subject allows that, why not bring a tripod and/or bracket for focus? That is surely gonna be faster than taking 2 trips.
