Sharing opinions was far more civil.
Probably the only thing better today than it was yesterdecades ago was videos weren't a thing, thanks to bandwidth and hosting being super expensive. However, music was super easy to find.
Basically, there's no real big changes, except all the smaller sites shut down and everyone only uses the major sites now.
Maybe in your shit country or state, it was worse back then, but here it was great.
But that's moot, since good shit still holds up, except for some kids who just dislike things because they're old.
Good sculpts were always praised and didn't really need paint, because the detail stood out all by themselves. Hasbro got sloppy with the eyes sometime in 2012 or 2013, and that basically ruined a lot of great figures.
