Considering what they've been pumping out with their Marvel Legends and Transformers lines, I'm not worried about them being able to make the larger Overwatch figures. If the initial figures sell well, they'll continue the line and larger figures will be made. Though there was hinting that BaFs may be possible, but I would much rather prefer they stick to a larger price point for bigger characters. >>7410176
There's a G.I. Joe movie coming out literally next year. Combined with the Netflix partnership, Hasbro may finally have a new avenue for producing cartoons that don't get death-slotted as soon as they premiere. >>7411103>However, the retailers that are left don't seem to want it without being attached to a cartoon or movie
This is the real reason Hasbro hasn't produced more in house IP figures. Even before Retaliation, G.I. Joes presence on non-TRU shelves was limited. Despite having some of the best figures in the entire franchise coming out, most retailers just didn't care because there was no accompanying media. But with Bumblebee being a refresh for the Transformers film franchise, their TF web cartoons being well received, a new Joe movie in the works and the aforementioned Netflix deal, Hasbro is setting up another attempt at jumping into the mass media market. Which if successful, will mean more toys to go along with it.
