Generally it depends.
Something like this probably should've been posted in marvel general, but marvel general is also a toxic shithole and the worst chain of threads on the board, but doesn't break the no request threads outside of /r/ rule i'd say.

this thread was a more straight forward "/r/ing big articulated tiddies with nipples" that's a few rules broken ontop of requests.
This is more just, straight forward using the board for what it's for like the post quoted above and >>7463892
So, assuming you/your friend weren't breaking /toy/ rule 2 no, this kind of thread is generally fine and helps break up monotony. Especially now when most lines are in a post-event stagnation period.
Not that it'd really matter, I assume most of the time we only see deletions on here through global mods.
But say if your friend happened to be a dumbass and say, started a pokemon general by requesting information about some GEM statue or something no that's an easy ban.
Or just a warning, but that's what I'd do. And I aint no mod.
