I don't agree with the 'a lot' part, because poches and nendos' tooling isn't that complex afterall, the characters' design is pretty much sculted over the basic body shape that nendos and poches have (outside of some notable exceptions like Kirby, Junkrat or Techies), figmas for example being more faithful to the source material when it comes to anatomical proportions need a lot of sculpt process/retooling, check how different is the anatomical proportions are between the Lucky Star figmas with the Ikkitousen ones or the love live girls or the Table museum ones, in this case the sculpt have to be 100% new each time and needs a lot of retooling for each, that's part of the reason why the release pace for figmas is slower than nendos.
I won't deny that Koto have been releasing basic bodies and clothes accessories, but that in itself isn't a bad thing IMO.
But the truth is that Koto needs to expand their catalog of series/animes/games/etc from which they are making poches, they already have been making some statueshit for comics like DC, Marvel and games like Tekken, KOF or Mass Effect, and the Zoids model kits, why not make poches on that? or more poches from Frame Arms Girl, Megami Device or Busou Shinki, not that they have the rights? Hell, even a poche of Pinhead, Evil Dead or Beattlejuice would be cool as fuck, considering Koto is making scales of them
