I bought every upgrade long ago and got enough gems (all free) to buy the whole backlog of costumes I had missed prior to starting the game, so I didn't really have anything else to do. Technically I could still grind fairy levels or those absurdly high-cap achievements, but my motivation is gone if there's no new costumes to get.
