The competition does everything MSA does better except for pixelart and the gameplay which is, as far as I know, unique to MSA.
The former can be just ripped from the game while the latter is fucked by poor balance.
A lot of players (including Exdeath who wanted to be a Rebel main) would like to make factions team but it's just not possible because the game is centered around PvP, which is the most efficient way to earn medals if you don't want to spend money, and there's no point in making pure factions deck since you can win >50% of your games just with "early build unit (toilet or totem usually)>10taro>Aqua HMT".
They tried making factions decks more relevant with the ultimate bosses, but they are pointless if you lose before being able to send them out and they are extremely unbalanced amongst themselves, with the Perfect Jupiter King being by far the weakest.
MSA is grindy, which is not exactly uncommon amongst gacha but it's a chore in MSA. See the current Task Force event, very easy but still require you to do a lot of clicking even if you can clear all the stages on hell on auto.
Raid exist but it's extremely inefficient, the trunk item can be used but they are limited and cost medals if you want more of them.
Whales also like to show off, which is why they liked Snatch War, which was basically a dick measuring contest that favor P2W players but not without strategy. The event was removed because SNK couldn't deal with the rampant cheating and because it was extremely unpopular with F2P players.
Same thing with Daily Rank event but on a lesser extent, pic related is how you were supposed to play it.
On a side note, it was because of Snatch War that the reddit guild became famous for being filled with cheaters and backstabbers.
Cheating still exist, even if SNK made great efforts on that point, they kinda had to because it literally killed the chinese release of MSA in a month or so.
