>>246680>MonksRequire an expensive cathedral to hire but are cheap to recruit once its done (10 gold per monk). Slower than spearmen but more durable. Don't require any weapons, so they can be great if you mass the absolute hell out of them.
>TunnelersThese guys can actually be used as discount macemen since their damage and speed is fairly high. The intended use of sapping is also fairly cost effective.
>Arabian archersFire faster than european bowmen and require no weapons but it comes at a much higher gold cost. Can light pitch with a brazier nearby. Can't dig.
>SlavesDirt cheap at 5 gold a man and fairly fast, but perform terribly in actual combat and die in a single shot from an arrow. Their torches can be used to set enemy buildings alight either to disrupt the economy or if the castle is tightly packed to utterly wreck everything. Can dig moat as well.
>SlingersCheap lowish range missile unit that still has its place when massed enough.
>AssassinsVery unique unit. Highish damage, low durability, come cloaked (so enemies can't see them until they're up close) and can climb walls in order to open gatehouses for the rest of the army or just kill the people the enemy has on their towers. If the enemy castle is poorly defended they might be able to bag the lord too.
>Horse ArchersVery pricy, but the ability to fire whilst moving makes them a capable unit even when assaulting a castle if there's enough of them.
>Arab swordsmenWeaker than european swordsmen but connsiderably faster.
>Fire throwersStrictly a defensive unit and very expensive. Throws firepots at low range that can devestate melee units trying to pass through or break the walls down, but they're susceptible to getting shot themselves. Still worth recruiting most of the time since fire kills indiscriminatly.
