This one has got to be one of my all time favourites, I love the atmosphere.
I generally love wallpapers of people reflecting or ones that make you reflect and I think this does both. Im not a fan of the Simpsons, I dont know the context (which I think is good) but someone driving out in their car in the middle of the desert and then just staring out into the stars, especially with it being a relatively iconically stupid character, whilst justing thinking about everything.
The backdrop of the stars kinds of puts into perspective who small you are, and how you are just a part of something bigger, there are billions of people out there living really complex lives simultaneously as yours and completely isolated from your own, like there are millions of stars each ages away from each other. Its kind of a lonely vibe but in the sense you are taking a step back from your life for a moment. The placing of the car and him is perfect, he isnt in the centre like youd expect, he is away in the side, the universe he's looking at isnt his own he's just a part of it.
I think the fact its Homer really adds to it, again I dont like it but hes kind of known to be this stupid guy who does silly shit and goofs around a lot, yet he is just sitting their silently contemplating. Being able to do that shows you have an awareness and understanding about yourself as a person I think, its showing to the viewer that this character is capable of being able to pause for a moment like some kind of existential vulnerability, which I think everyone has, most people dont have anything in common except for the fact they are small parts of a big world.
I really love it and I think it pins down the kind of atmosphere and vibe I love.
