This picture gives me so much nostalgia, there used to be a place near me that had a neon sign similar to the layout of that for the Customs House and Fishing Authority but it was from the 1980/90s so would sometimes flicker or turn off, we'd fish next to it because after it got dark we could continue because the pollution from the light would give us enough to see what we were doing. The low buzz was soothing kinda. They knocked down all the old custom houses and fishing docks on the river but auctioned off the sign and a few other iconic bits from the old fishing quay. It sold for a small amount, enough to where I really thought of buying it but it wouldn't be the same. I miss my town before it became a place for holiday homes and "beach tourists".
