Bike computers are way too expensive for my tastes, but I don't don't they're superior to having a phone strapped to your bars.
Things is, in 2021 entry level chinese smartphones are ridiculously high quality for the price. So it doesn't make sense, considering you could literally just buy a spare phone for the task and still be able to use it for a wide variety of other things.
I personally use an iPhone I found on the beach, which I unlocked with some pirated russian/chinese hacking software. Now it is used as 1. ebook reader 2. offline maps and gps 3. bike computer
I usually just let Strava do its thing with the screen off and check the stats when I finish riding. Uses almost no battery this way.>>1698487>https://github.com/hishizuka/pizero_bikecomputer
