is something that really makes me ponder.
I commute in a moderately dense city, with pretty big and constantly increasing bike traffic and the dedicated infra not being all that good, I share the road with plethora of other cyclists who are on all levels of ability and with cars/buses/whatnot as well (when I have to go onto the street tarmac) - and I can not thing of one factor in favour of having a fixed gear for such riding. All the stops and starts of normal traffic, possible climbs, slow and fast stretches absolutely kill this idea for me.>how you maneuver
As long as you don't ride backwards I see no advantage over a normal bike with brakes and derailleurs.
