>>777915>The changs can be there if they actually look grim, dark and decrepid like the world they're meant to represent not the hollywood capeshit we've been presented with.
Except the entire WFB isn't a decrepit shithole (but most of the places humanity inhabits in the Old World *are*), especially not Cathay, which has always been described as this fabled Golden Land (i.e. Silk Road on fucking steroids) of wonders = read: NOT a decrepit shithole (on the outside at least / in appearance). Get it? Look at fucking Congo, then look at fucking Las Vegas... both exist in the same world, yet are completely fucking different "worlds" ... there's no inconsistency. If the creator's of the fictional setting say Cathay does not look decrepit, then it's consistent with their vision of the world, and they've been describing it that way since forever as well. Okay, there haven't really been official tabletop models and shit, and not that many illustrations either, but I don't see GW's interpretation as inconsistent for the WFB world at all.
Or are you saying you hate the High Elves? (all of) The Empire? The Dwarves? Those are all not at all just decrepit and dark places, according to "general" standards.
What are your actual precise criteria for being "grim dark"? Because AFAIK, the WFB world sure as fuck isn't consistent in that aesthetically for sure, and never was.
