I have 322 hours in this game and find it much more enjoyable than Civilization ever was, and I started with Civ 2 as a child. Era stars are fun to earn and the cultural changes always make the games intriguing. I only have two problems: it's not hard after Medieval and Industrial/Contemporary don't last long enough. People don't like the war system I guess, but it's grown on me as I've come to realize that using grievances/demands lets you get territories for less end-war score cost or whatever. And limited war isn't so bad, you just go to war against multiple people in tandem and it gives the AI time to rebuild/be conquered.
It does have some other, minor problems. Like Militarist special ability being useless or Builder/Scientist being overpowered with no influence cost. Hunting in Neolithic could be more rewarding and I think the legacy trait should be earned when you finish any star. Cultural Osmosis is sort of horrible, but it's also a good way to make alliances. And the costs for absorbing cities is way too damn high IMO.
I have no idea what its media circumstances about "wokeness" are, so take that as you will.>>796645
Their EU is worthless against AI atm and you'll need start going after high Fame cultures in Early Modern. I've been in situations where I can produce the Mughal EU in one turn on Endless, then you just one-shot everything with elephant cannons. I usually go French over Germans though. The pollution from their ED can be really restrictive and their EU is also worthless against AI atm.>>797762>AI first-picks
If you micro well enough in Neolithic, you can get first pick on Slow/Endless.>not enough resources
Upgrades could be cheaper. I tend to disband units and build new ones instead of upgrading.>AI always backstabs
I haven't had this problem. The +% bonuses are too high to ignore, I think.
