I like to think of it this way;
Everyone's roughly on the same level of depressed.
Everyone's just on different levels of dealing with said depression. An example is that a person with a loving family and healthy life, good friendship etc, barely notices the sadness that theoretically exists in their life. While someone with a harsh past has more weighing down on them. At the end of the day, you make choices. And I try my best to make choices that lead to happiness, but even then I still encourage to find some sort of peace with your sadness before you move on and say goodbye.
That's how I'm making it through my episodes or series or whatever the fuck you want to call it, of depression. I might be too pride to get professional help but I know people who technically have it better and react way worse. It's all about perspective my friends.
